Associazione Ma.Ma.
Ma.Ma. Association was created in Sassari thanks to the initiative and will of the spouses Mrs. Marina Secci and Mr. Mario Nieddu, who developed a passion for collecting special and suggestive objects. They own a unique and original collection represented by more than 500 items, among others: Christian, Catholic, Orthodox rosaries; Islamic and Buddhist prayer beads; as well as icons, prints and small statues of Black Madonnas coming from shrines located all over the world.
The association, based on Christian and universal spiritual values, aims at promoting cultural and artistic activities, as declared into art. 3 of the Statute; the main objective is to organize travelling exhibitions all around Sardinia island, Italy and abroad.
For more than 40 years Mario and Marina travelled and visited European and extra-European countries and collected, photographed and classified each single object which is part of their collection.
The couple, now retired, has always been involved into activities connected to charity and solidarity.
Marina loves to read and practice foreign languages (she speaks French, knows English, some Portuguese and a little Chinese), she has almost finished a Course about Theology and she is the President of the Association.
Mario, an IT fan, is both the Association Vice-President and the person in charge for administration, he looks after and manages the accountancy.
Currently the main wish is to create through displays and exhibitions a connection between people interested in enhancement and cultural development, sharing the religious meaning of the rosary to value and highlight the content and appearance of this ancient object.
